xmas 2 NYear

Delicious breakfast my fabulous sister made for us Christmas morning.  Egg, bacon bake thing and french toast casserole.  Oy, to die for.

How does Christmas disappear so quickly?  We shop for weeks and months, decorate our houses from inch to inch, and – like the Thanksgiving feast a month prior – the holiday DAY speeds by in a whirl of paper, ribbon and squeals of laughter.  whew…

Christians say that Jesus is the reason for the season.  Since he was really probably born in March or April, I stick to the old pagan belief of yuletide…

We gather together in the middle of winter because it’s damn cold out and no one wants to ride their motorcycles in the snow, or play volleyball on the icy pits.  We snuggle and drink, eat too much and make merry because it is what you do when it’s dreary, cold, and dark at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

And now that all the packages are unwrapped and the goodies are already in use, it is time to break out my trampoline and try to burn off all my extra ‘love’ handles.

Or, at least, after New Year’s celebration 😉
